I would try and get the updater first to roll back to 9.34.11

You have a variant btw its RTL9201 no R
it most prob takes the same firmware so should be fine but no guarantees
yes spi is the chip that stores the firmware for the chip i dumped mine with a ch341a flash programmer

the SPI is the Puya chip it holds the firmware for the RTL9201R
there's a really old firmware built into the RTL9201 that it can also boot off in a limp mode if that firmware is missing

I'm in touch with Jeyi and they say they will send me a firmware update to fix the problem. I'll share it here of course.

Oh btw the RTL9201R reports that it is USB 3.2 Gen2 but is hardware Capped at USB 3.2 Gen1 via some sort of hardware level lockout
so its Speed is capped at SATA of around 439 MB/s 

By the looks of it the RTL9201 non R is allowed to link at USB 3.2 Gen2 to allow the full speed of around 535 MB/s
