Ok tested a bunch more usb 4/thunderbolt cables with my asm 2464 or Colorii MC40-Silver- USB 4 enclosure.

No cables above 30cm work stable, they may work most of the time or not at all or randomly cut out. I had to run crystaldisk benchmark a few times to double check.

So the easiest solution, stick with 30cm or less size cables. Its the only one I found with a right angle so it makes it easier for computers on the back port and its 5cm bit more longer so gives me just about enough clearance to attach flash drives and usb 4 enclosures to do my back ups.

I would not use 40cm or longer cables, must have tried 20 of them and returned 20 of them back to amazon.


 

Yes, I can confirm that the longer it is, the more unstable it is.

I have an ORICO USB4 cable that is 1 meter long. Everything works fine.
 
 
 

I have the same cable, it's a really good quality, top brand. 

For those like me who have experienced the decorative LEDs going out, here's a utility that restored them after the update.

You need to run the utility "RN09_AutoUpdate.exe".
After the update, please configure the Mptool settings, as it's set to Thunderbolt 3/USB3.

You can also configure it to install the latest firmware and change certain parameters.

But do this after the update to ensure the LEDs are restored before making any changes.

The update restored the LEDs on my Fideco case.
