Gigabyte Z590 Vision D with dual I225-V
My problem is that one of both controllers intermittently drop out with "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". Disabling the device and reenabling it brings it back for a while.
Rolled back driver to 2.1.1.7 (the latest on the Gigabyte site for this board) but still have the same problem. Thought a firmware update might help.
Followed procedure given till:
C:\I225V>EEUPDATEW64e.exe /nic=1 /d NVM\FXVL_15F3_V_1MB_1.89.bin

Using: Intel (R) PRO Network Connections SDK v2.38.10
EEUPDATE v5.38.10.00

Try the latest drivers and if that doesn't work try under Windows PE

Before update my pcie i225v firmware, i made a back files using this command: EEUPDATEW64e.exe /nic=1 /DUMP and i got 2 files: .bin (2MB) and .eep.
the update failed, now i can not use it at all:

If your card changed PID to 15FD, it means that i225's memory chip is empty. Any dump of eeprom or bin will contain useless random data. You said that you have old backup. Eeupdate tool has a bug that generates double-backup for 1M cards. Run any hex editor and delete second half of the backup. Leave area from 0x0 to 0xfffff (1MB).

Flash that file by simply command:
eeupdate /nic=1 /d backup_1mb.bin

Then turn AC OFF for 30 seconds. Wait till all LEDs will turn off on the motherboard.


The eeupdate bug generates 2MB backup for 1M cards like shown:
 

If your backup is corrupted, write to me. I can do anything with those cards with my magic
