I225-v Pcie Nic doesn't get detected by Gigabyte Motherboard only
2 months 1 week ago - 2 months 1 week ago
So I bought an intel i225-v pcie nic from
iocrest
and for some reason my Gigabyte b550 Gaming X rev 1.0 won't detect it in bios or in windows/linux, what's weird is that it worked fine on multiple systems (tried it in a h61 system, xeon system, asus tuf b450m with same cpu i have), i tried everything in bios (disabled On board LAN, changed pcie slots and used different gen, unpluging nvme or sata ssd to free lanes, tried 2 pcie x16 and 3 pcie 1x slots...ect) it's worth noting that when i plug an rj45 to the nic the LED lights turn on.
It would be helpful if someone have any solution or information regarding this.

I tried the latest bios update also i rolled back to older bios (from to 2021 and 2023).
as for the nic firmware i haven't tried updating it as i never did that before specially that it's a pcie nic, but i will try it today.
will this work just fine for a pcie nic ? also any official firmware you can link me to try ?

I dont believe its FW related for now, if the device itself is not present in Windows device manager.
i2xx FW are not easy to apply correctly and exists many failed user reports, careful.
Also you can contact IOCREST if they can supply a FW update of their own.
