a short info about the Intel RST drivers (300 Series)

Hello Fernando,

a short information about the Intel Rapid storage drivers for the 300 chipsets. The versions from 18.0 are for the 400 chipsets. Only the 17.0 versions work with the 300 chipsets. This is stated incorrectly in the forum and in the download. I myself have a Gigabyte Z390 gaming X motherboard. The 18.0 versions cannot be installed there. The 17.0 versions are running.

Hello Nemesis2354,
where are the related "incorrect" information (within which Forum and which thread)?
Why didn't you post your comment into the related thread? That would have been better.
By the way - >here< is the thread about which Intel RST drivers I recommend for users with an Intel Z370 chipset system. Please look into the table at the bottom of the start post.

In the download area, almost all 18 versions in the forum are released for the 300 chipsets. See the screenshot. Z390, Z370, H370 etc

The content of this thread is absolutely misleading, because these are the facts:
  1. Intel's RST v18 platform consists of 2 absolutely different driver development branches:
    a) RST v8.x.x.xxxx series Intel VMD drivers, which only support modern Intel VMD Controllers (that is the reason why Nemesis 2354 was not able to get them installed)
    b) RST v8.3x.x.xxxx series Intel AHCI/RAID/NVMe drivers.
  2. Intel RST drivers of the v18 platform can be used even with Intel 300-Series Chipset systems, which are running in AHCI mode, but only the v8.3x.x.xxxx ones do support them.
As a proof I add an excerpt of the file named iaAHCIC.inf file, which is part of the Intel RST driverpack v18.37.7.1013 WHQL:
