6.0.9646.1@2024.02.20_02.22 (ASUS)

It's true that it's not on MSC, but we already have 6.0.9648.1, 6.0.9649.1 and 6.0.9655.1.

MSC/MUC now has a 6.0.9646.1 "All OEM" driver (released Sun. early afternoon 4/07/2024; cab download size 12.3Mb)

and also a 6.0.9646.1 "Sixunited / IP3 Tech" driver from MS that contains HDXACPIP3.inf, HDXIP3.inf & HDXSSTIP3.inf files
(released after midnight of 4/15/2024; cab download size 11.5Mb)

and a 6.0.9646.1 "Weibu / Tongfang" driver from MS that has only the HDXTongfang.inf file
(released early morning 4/18/2024; cab download size 11.5Mb)

too bad Asus doesn't yet have a 6.0.9652.1 version (like with Clevo); might be included in an all oem 9652 driver release that was posted mid-April

MUC = microsoft update catalog

edit 4/15 - added link to the 6.0.9646.1 Sixunited/IP3 Tech driver from MS Update
edit 4/18 - added link to the 6.0.9646.1 Weibu/Tongfang driver from MS Update

It's been a while since I have seen a UAD driver for Gigabyte boards on this thread: correct me if I'm wrong but 6.0.9618.1 should be the latest one (I found the official one on the main site embedded with the files for the latest control panel app, and those unofficial drivers made by Shonk linked at the start of this thread end with that release), right?
Tried the generic ones taken from MS update catalog but I can't use Realtek control panel with those (surely missing a necessary extra component), I remember a time where they were listed as "Gigabyte/Clevo" on this thread, so just asking myself: are the Clevo ones the same? Can I safely use them on a Gigabyte board? Better to wait for an official Gigabyte release?

hi Thalon. what kind of Gigabyte motherboard are you using?

Shonk wrote the following in another forum:
I noticed 9601.1 had some weird audio glitches in games at at times (very rare) (the only way i can describe is it's a glitch in the matrix)

9605.1 enforces powering down the audio constantly

It keeps reverting the following

I have rolled back to 9599.1 to see if the rare game audio glitching is fixed (as im not sure what driver it started on)

9599.1 has fixed the reverting of below for sure
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0002\PowerSettings] "ConservationIdleTime"=hex:00,00,00,00 "PerformanceIdleTime"=hex:00,00,00,00 "IdlePowerState"=hex:00,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0002\PowerSettings] "ConservationIdleTime"=hex:00,00,00,00 "PerformanceIdleTime"=hex:00,00,00,00 "IdlePowerState"=hex:00,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0002\SettingsEx] "SetIdlePowerManagement"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0002\SettingsEx] "SetIdlePowerManagement"=dword:00000000

this was several months back in late November 2023 when he mentioned this.
Shonk has stopped producing newer unofficial Gigabyte drivers beyond 6.0.9618.1 and he himself has downgraded the drivers to version 6.0.9599.1 to avoid such problems on his Gigabyte board.

another example: this Win11 user in with a Gigabyte board in Eleven forum using driver version 6.0.9608.1 also started having audio problems and that person too has reverted back to using the 6.0.9599.1 version.

so Thalon, I think you should stick with using a driver version from 6.0.9599.1 or older as versions 6.0.9601.1 & newer seem to cause some audio delay or other problems on old Gigabyte boards.

-the only reason to use 6.0.9618.1 or newer drivers is if you're using a Gigabyte motherboard with recent AMD (X670, B650, TRX50, etc.) or Intel chipsets (B760, Z790, etc.) or using any of the newly released 2024 Gigabyte Aorus or 2024 Gigabyte G5/G6 gaming laptop pcs.  for older Gigabyte boards & possibly older Gigabyte laptops, use version 6.0.9599.1 or older
