Summary:

Technical Deep Dive: Installation Order Fix

Problem: When Intel removes specific HWIDs from newer installer packages, but your hardware still needs those drivers:

• Example: Package v1.0 has HWID1, HWID2, HWID3
• Package v1.1 only has HWID2, HWID3 (Intel deprecated HWID1)
• Installing v1.1 first, then v1.0 would downgrade HWID2 and HWID3

Solution: Sort packages by version (oldest → newest) before installation:

• v1.0 installs first → HWID1, HWID2, HWID3 all installed
• v1.1 installs second → HWID2 and HWID3 upgraded, HWID1 unchanged
• Result: All drivers at their maximum available version, no downgrades

Code Change (line ~1714 in PowerShell script):

This ensures legacy platforms receive optimal driver coverage without sacrificing newer updates for actively supported HWIDs.

So, I tested your Universal Intel Chipset Drivers Updater​ v2026.02.0008 and I have so many questions:
1. Where is the" universal-intel-chipset-updater.ps1" and "universal-intel-chipset-updater.bat". Your download shows only the "ChipsetUpdater-2026.02.0008-Win10-Win11.exe"
2. While your Chipset Driver Updater detects correctly the platform (in my case "sunrisepoint-lp:) but there are other devices missing which are are also distributed with the chipset drivers.
Recognized: 
Mobile 7th/8th Generation Intel(R) Processor Family I/O LPC Controller (U with iHDCP2.2 Premium) - 9D4E
Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O PCI Express Root Port #1 - 9D10
Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O PCI Express Root Port #3 - 9D12
Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O PCI Express Root Port #5 - 9D14
Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O PCI Express Root Port #9 - 9D18
Not recognized:
Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O PMC - 9D21 (found also in SunrisePoint-LPSystem.inf, but ignored)
Mobile Intel(R) Processor Family I/O Thermal subsystem - 9D31 (found in SunrisePoint-LPSystemThermal.inf)
Intel(R) Host Bridge/DRAM Registers - 5914 (found in KabylakeSystem.inf)
Why these other devices are not scanned for matching Device-IDs?
It looks like that your tool tries to scan the platform and when it finds an corresponding filename, it ignores other system-IDs or inf-files.
These devices are all listed System Devices of the Device Manager.

What’s strange is that 9D31 is detected — this HWID does not appear in SunrisePoint-LPSystem.inf file in the latest 10.1.20404.8794 package.
It only appears in the sunrisepoint-lpSystem.inf file in version 10.1.1.13 from 2015.

I found a bug...
The database is missing SunrisePoint-LPSystemThermal.inf for 10.1.20404.8794 — this INF covers 9D31.
My scanner only detected it in 13 other packages in the Chipset_Thermal.inf file.

You can run this installer manually and let me know if everything installs correctly:

This is a slightly older version 10.1.20398.8776 instead of 10.1.20404.8794, but the INF file versions should be identical.

When I was running your installer on my system it didn't show in the Terminal (DOS) Window the devices I listed under "Not recognized".
As for Device-ID 9D31:
The "SunrisePoint-LPSystemThermal.inf" can be found in the following driver packages and does contains only the Device-ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D31
10.1.20266.8668, dated June 28, 2025
10.1.20378.8757, dated October 17, 2025
10.1.20404.8794, dated December 7, 2025
The only driver package which does not contain "SunrisePoint-LPSystemThermal.inf" is 10.1.20398.8776, which is the version I installed and manually adjusted the drivers to the corresponding folders.
Funny part, the WHQL certificate has a reference to the "SunrisePoint-LPSystemThermal.inf" of package 10.1.20398.8776.
I think your program should try to find the Intel devices listed in the system starting with "VEN_8086 and DEV_ID" (Intel PCI Device) and compare these to the provided VEN_ID and DEV_ID.

Edit: 9D31 is v10.1.5.3

Thank you for the feedback.
For some reason, the scanner is not adding the SunrisePoint-LPSystemNorthpeak.inf file for 9D26 and the SunrisePoint-LPSystemThermal.inf file for 9D31.
I manually corrected the database and now I'll be scratching my head as to why this is happening. I'm scanning 100,000 INF files in total, so it's quite a puzzle.

If you ran the Updater now, it should detect only version 10.1.20404.8794.
