I still havnt managed to backup the firmware

But decided to do something about the internal 20mm fan
it was a bit annoying for 24/7 use

I Took the ASM 2464 apart and removed the fan

I took an nvme heatsink and snipped a square off it with metalwork tin snips
put a 20mm x 20mm x 0.5mm thick square of Thermalright Odyssey 12.8 W/mk Pad ontop of the ASM 2464
and put the 20mm x 20mm trimmed heatsink ontop of the ASM 2464
then put a 20mm x 20mm x 1.5mm thick square of Thermalright Odyssey 12.8 W/mk Pad ontop of the heatsink
when you put the pcb back in the case and screw it down the 1.5mm thick pad press fit's nice
and snug dissipating directly into the heavy metal enclosure
and ofc put a thermal pad on the NVME drive so it also dissipates into the enclosure metal

Temps seem fine and havnt had a problem in the last 2 days

@Shonk Can you provide a link for the exact heat sink you used to put inside the enclosure.

Hello, is it possible to update the firmware of the MAIWO-External SSD NVMe M.2 enclosure equipped with the Asmedia ASMT-2462 controller, the enclosure I received is equipped with firmware 240229_85_00_00 and there is a new version 240417_85_00_00, I wanted to update it via the "Mptool" software but unfortunately the update is failed every time. All connected to a GEN 2x2 port on a 650i MSI please
