I don't see any chip that resembles the one in the example. I do see it on my RTL9210 enclosure, but not my RTL920CN.

 

its most prob at the bottom side of the pcb sometimes they are underneath

be very careful when you do it and dont accidently short out any other connections when doing it btw
it will boot into the falsafe firmware that is on the 9220 then so you can reflash the spi from said failsafe firmware

I broke the NVME connector trying to pry out the PCB (and broke tweezers), so it's over. I will still try to get it out to see if there's a chip at the bottom.

It happens that the firmware doesn't go well, but luckily there is this solution. As Shonk said, be careful not to touch other contacts; I do it with fine-tipped tweezers.
