People had the issue even without GeForce Experience installed and this fixed it.

the better fix is to not install that bloat in the first place

Seems like according to the nVidia forums, even people who installed just the drivers without GeForce Experience had the problem which this fix did fix.

According to the nVidia support forums, this workaround worked for those who only installed the drivers without also downloading GeForce Experience.
