Be careful, as some external PCI-E cards (probably not Rev 3) are not compatible, so read the messages carefully.
Here is the command for firmware recovery:
flashUpdate2.exe --reflash xxxxxxxx.clx

Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with my Z890 ProArt so far.
Definitely do a clean install of your old firmware.

The chipset is recognized; if so, try with a different firmware or the last one that worked.
Note: Use the latest drivers, version 3.1.11.0.

Same error with other firmware. Tried it by booting into Hiren Boot PE. Windows can recognise the card and HWID shows the correct 4 parts. But updater doesn’t see. Only sees 0000 0000 0000 0000. It cannot reset the card as well.
