thanks Tom. I'm feeling much better now but my family & I had to deal with an unfortunate and unexpected problem.
my relative's house was recently burglarized yesterday.  the relatives & the neighbors closest to their house had to call the police to drive the intruder out and my brother & I had to help out my relatives with the recovery process and change most of the locks on the doors & front gate; some of their belongings are already gone.

note to admin: another 6.0.9754.1 Asus driver package recently available from the Asus web site - this time a "motherboard" driver instead of a notebook/laptop driver
