Asmedia ASM2824 PCIe Gen3 Packet Switch firmware Version 210128_40_00_00

I picked up one of these off aliexpress the other day for my server to break out the PCIe x8 slot into 4 x Gen3x4 m.2 Ports
When mine arrived it was made in the middle of 2024 so the firmware was upto date
so i didnt have to update it

My model is Konyead 3003K the update is supplied for Konyead 3002K (which is a 3003K without the heatsink)
It cost me £89.99 delivered with 20% vat

210128_40_00_00
konyead.net/DownList/1.html

of note
NVME 1 = Port 1
NVME 2 = Port 0
NVME 3 = Port 2
NVME 4 = Port 3

Its very solid and provides full PCIe 3.0 x4 bandwidth to each drive with upto 2 drives being maxed out at the same time (in an x8 slot)
you could only max out 1 drive at a time if the card is fitted into an x4 slot ofc

i may get another at a later date for my main pc Z690+14900KS to break out a PCIE 3.0x4 slot into 4 ports for more drives

if you run the asm updater is loads the driver from the location
and has to be manually removed like so then reboot before you can delete the folder
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ASMIO] [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ASMIO]

I ended up having to fit some small heatsinks instead of the supplied heatsink as i have so many drives jammed into the case (7 NVMe 24 Sata)

Here's some images of the card for anyone interested
