I don't think updating the firmware solves the problem try checking the usb ports I think the problem is there

well there are 4 at the back and 4 at the front I have tried them all but I also have USB c if I can find a lead
used to work ok before the 22H2 updated the same hardware.

tell me the model you have and if what disk or cd is connected to it
I will try to see because I have USB / SATA adapters
